Ever wonder if something in a movie is historically correct?
Movies have tremendous power to shape our perceptions of the past. We know that filmmakers take freedom in telling stories and creating scenes, but at what cost? History is dull stuff and filmmakers have the right to cut and merge events so it could be watchable.
Where is the line between making good decisions and ignoring real facts because of more drama/money?
History and movies were always in conflict because as soon the first filmmakers grabbed the pencil and started writing a script they chose: what to show, what not to show, which theme would be displayed, what is the message etc.
Well, we often stop watching some “historical” movies after seeing a bunch of nonsense.
On this page group of history professors will try to point out some inaccuracies and misleads without mercy.
